We opened because Oxford needed a place like this.
A neighbourhood spot, run with intention.
We started with a simple question: where would we go in Oxford for really good bread and a proper coffee? The answer kept being somewhere else. So we made the place.
Camelia is named after the flower. Quiet, seasonal, easy to miss — and worth looking for. That’s how we try to run the café.
The menu changes with the season. The sourdough goes in the oven at 5 am. The coffee is taken seriously. Everything else is just hospitality.
A few things we believe in.
Made in the morning.
Everything is baked on site, each morning. Nothing arrives frozen. If it’s gone, it’s gone.
Coffee, properly.
Single origin, seasonal roast. Milk alternatives at no extra charge. Made to your pace, not ours.
A place to stay.
Tables don’t have timers. Bring a book, bring your laptop, bring whoever you like.
We’re open every day, 8 am to 8 pm. The door is always unlocked.
Find us on the High Street in Oxford. No reservation needed.
